UF Health is excited to announce the opening of our brand-new UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care - Intracoastal location in Jacksonville. We are seeking dedicated, compassionate healthcare professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Location: UF Health Emergency & Urgent Care - Intracoastal Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32225 Schedule: Variable | 7:00am - 7:00pm | 36 hours per week Employment Type: Full-Time Assists Supervisor in planning, scheduling, coordinating and problem solving in the assigned Laboratory area. Involved with instrument validation, correlations, new procedures, and special projects. Performs Laboratory procedures, some requiring advance knowledge and skills. Operates lab instrumentation to provide clinical data for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease. Makes independent judgment decisions in the reporting of normal and abnormal results. Sets up new Quality Control (QC) lots and reviews quality control routinely. Assists with competencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Science (such as biology, chemistry, medical technology, and clinical/medical laboratory science).
- Florida licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Supervisor
- Practices Hospitality Training
- Possesses critical thinking skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Performs waived, moderate and high complexity procedures in assigned technical area. (50%)
- Sets up new lots of quality control. Performs and analyzes data to ensure accurate test results. Reviews QC daily, weekly, and monthly. Compiles monthly QC statistics. (10%)
- Assists departments with competency assessment and performs assessments as required. Performs troubleshooting on instruments and keeps supervisor informed. Monitors instrument maintenance. (5%)
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements for CLIA, AHCA, AABB & CAP (College of American Pathologists). Reviews regulatory standards and related procedures with staff. (5%)
- Performs linearities and instrument to instrument comparison as required. Performs verifications when required and compiles documentation for review by Supervisor. Perform LIS validations. (5%)
- Assists with scheduling decisions when needed. (5%)
- Maintains inventory for assigned area. Review charges for department as necessary. (5%)
- Assigns PT surveys to staff in a timely manner. Monitors staff CAP assignments for results and submission to CAP. (5%)
- Maintains equipment
- Updates procedures
- May serve as a liaison between LIS and Labs
- All other delegated CLIA duties as required by the CLIA lab director and administrative duties assigned by supervisor within job scope.
