Laboratory Tech- PRN
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Tech performs clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and instrument maintenance. This role involves maintaining cooperative working relationships with both intradepartmental and interdepartmental personnel. The tech is responsible for troubleshooting instruments and may determine the need for a technical service call. This position is considered a Safety-sensitive position under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (The Unity Bill), meaning tasks or duties could affect the safety and health of the employee or others. Employees in this role are subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites.
Requirements
- Ability to work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager
- Ability to perform each key function satisfactorily based on five overall skills categories: assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation and teaching/coaching
- Compliance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (The Unity Bill) for a Safety-sensitive position
Responsibilities
- Performs clinical laboratory procedures

- Troubleshoots instruments and may determine the need for a technical service call
- Adhere to the hospitals philosophy, mission, and policies and procedures
- Support the hospitals goals and objectives
- Maintains a good attendance record and follows all hospital rules, policies and procedures
- Establishes and maintains excellent interdepartmental and interpersonal relationships
- Attends required departmental meetings and in-services to stay current with the developments of the department and hospital
- Demonstrates active listening techniques
- Gains support through effective relationships
- Treats others with dignity and respect; seeks feedback
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity always in care and use of patient and hospital property
- Demonstrates and understands the importance of and respect for the rights, dignity and individuality of each patient in all interactions
