About The Position

This is a temporary, full-time position with a work schedule of Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. The role involves cleaning, sanitizing, sterilizing, and preparing animal cages, racks, and related equipment. Responsibilities include assembling cages with bedding and feed, transporting them to animal housing areas, and loading/unloading cage racks, bulk trucks, animal feed, bedding, and other supplies throughout the facility. The position requires adherence to established safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and sanitation protocols, while collaborating with the ULAR team.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of recent experience in sanitation, warehouse, manufacturing, custodial, or other physically demanding work involving loading and unloading materials.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
Valid California driver's license.
Ability to read, write, and understand English sufficiently to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a laboratory, research, healthcare, or animal research environment.
Familiarity with sanitation procedures or equipment cleaning processes.

Ability to quickly learn laboratory equipment, procedures, and standard operating practices.

Responsibilities

Clean, sanitize, sterilize, and prepare animal cages, racks, and related equipment using tunnel washers and autoclaves.
Assemble cages by adding bedding, feed, and other required materials before transporting them to animal housing areas.
Load, unload, and move cage racks, bulk trucks, animal feed, bedding, and other supplies throughout the facility.
Follow established safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and sanitation protocols while working collaboratively with the ULAR team.
