Laboratory Specimen Processor II (2nd Shift)
About The Position
Sonic Reference Laboratory, Inc., part of Sonic Healthcare USA, is hiring a full-time Laboratory Specimen Processor II in Austin, Texas. The position works a second-shift schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and is benefits eligible. The role supports clinical laboratory operations by processing specimens accurately and efficiently, with attention to the patient behind every sample. The processor performs Laboratory Specimen Processor I duties at a mastery level, handles shift exception processing, prepares serum and urine aliquots, creates send-away manifests, and packages and ships specimens. The role also completes the daily end-of-shift checklist and assists the shift lead and supervisor with inventory needs. Requirements
- Associate degree, or phlebotomy certification, or medical assistant qualification with a high school diploma.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Typing proficiency, including 10-key.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in a biological science or certification in a medical program technologist program.
- Two or more years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing.
- Data entry experience in a laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
