About The Position

The Laboratory Specialist I is responsible for the processing of biological samples collected during clinical trials. The Laboratory Specialist I will ensure tasks performed are conducted within compliance of study protocol, Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Shift Options: Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday from 7:00am-5:30pm

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of related experience.
  • MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals.
  • Ability to write advanced reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate study needs and make recommendations for implementation to management.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, customer service focused and ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the confidentiality of clinical trial participants and sponsors is respected, while maintaining a high level of quality within the department.
  • Report procedural deviations, issues and/or problem resolutions to appropriate supervisory team members.
  • Processing biological samples, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, always ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Participating in maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Understand protocol driven timed study events, which may include but are not limited to, centrifugation, study and clinical diagnostic sample handling/processing, storing samples and acceptable windows (protocol and/or SOP driven) for the timed events.
  • Other tasks assigned by management.
