About The Position

Essentia Health is hiring laboratory professionals for its Fosston, Ada, and Graceville facilities. Fosston is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital offering 24-hour emergency care. Ada is a Level IV Trauma Center and 14-bed Critical Access Hospital providing rehabilitation services, surgical care, and 24-hour emergency care. Graceville is a Level IV Trauma Center and Critical Access Hospital with 24-hour emergency care. The role may be filled at the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) level, subject to the corresponding education and certification qualifications.

The position is listed at 1.0 FTE and follows a rotating day, evening, and night schedule, with start and end times that vary. Weekend and holiday work and call obligations are required.

Requirements

• For MLT: Graduate of an associate degree program in Medical Laboratory Technician, or meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing through an alternative route.
• For MLS: Graduate of a four-year degree program in Clinical Laboratory Science, or be MLT (ASCP) certified with additional semester hours in clinical laboratory equivalents from an accredited school, two years of full-time laboratory experience, and MLS (ASCP) certification.
• For MLT: Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification is required within one year from the date of hire.
• For MLS: Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required within one year from the date of hire.
• Availability for a rotating day, evening, and night schedule, including weekends and holidays, and call obligations.
