About The Position

Laboratory Operations Director manages Lab Operations including technical functions and quality assurance. This position is responsible for the oversight of clinical testing, lab accreditation, and facility and equipment selection, implementation, and maintenance to ensure efficient and effective daily lab operation. Coordinates clinical projects and vendor resources to implement, maintain, and support laboratory equipment and ensure staff competency and education. Responsible for staff supervision and resource management for technical/clinical personnel and activities, assuring the provision of accurate testing that best meets customer needs in a cost-effective manner.

Requirements

BS Degree
Qualified individuals will have a bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical lab science or medical technology.

Oversees the selection and implementation of new laboratory equipment and testing, and coordinates clinical projects including implementation, training and support.
Prepares incident reports and other reports of unusual occurrences, testing results or instrument malfunctions.
Prepares required statistical reports for quality management, accounting, marketing, hospital committees and administrative use.
Provides direction and problem solving skills for laboratory functions, sets appropriate priorities among competing demands, and uses available information technology to support day-to-day work operations.
Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, protocols and standards to maintain a high quality level of service.
