Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business related degree
  • 5 years of experience
  • 2 years of relevant leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing, and implementing complex, high-profile programs or a large-complex portfolio of Laboratory Operations business projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, identifying and addressing variances.
  • Oversee adherence to financial policies.
  • Drive continuous cost management initiatives to identify efficiencies, optimize spending, and improve overall financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets, providing insights for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Forecast out-year funding, carryover projections, and FTE projections.
  • Define and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of laboratory operation services, ensuring strategic alignment and value delivery.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial processes.
  • Develop and track laboratory financial indices.
  • Prepare Laboratory Operations level financial reports and Leadership Team presentations.
  • Perform impact analysis on Laboratory Operations spending and provide data for Laboratory Operations level and senior management data requests.
  • Build relationships and serve as a liaison between Laboratory Operations and Finance, Contracts, and Procurement.
  • Partner with key contacts outside own area of expertise and other external stakeholders.
  • Review Laboratory Operations practices, actions, and proposals, providing suggestions for solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Explore ways to enhance Laboratory Operations investment reporting.
  • Manage the activities of a small team of financial professionals.
  • Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce planning.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the department or multiple disciplines.
  • Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the department and possibly the division.
  • Communicate and present results and recommendations across disciplines.
  • Interact frequently with customers, and/or functional peer group professionals, involving matters between multiple departments and groups.
