About The Position

PathGroup is seeking AP/CP Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologists interested in current and future opportunities throughout the greater Nashville area. As one of the nation’s largest independent private pathology groups, PathGroup offers physicians the opportunity to practice within a collaborative, physician-led organization supported by an extensive network of general and subspecialty pathologists. Opportunities may include hospital-based practice, laboratory-based practice, medical leadership, or subspecialty-focused responsibilities. PathGroup’s national headquarters and central laboratory are located in the greater Nashville area, along with a network of affiliated hospital-based practices. Opportunities may be available within central laboratory operations or at hospital-based practices throughout the surrounding region. Specific practice location, schedule, responsibilities, call expectations, and leadership duties will depend on the available position. Candidates may be considered for opportunities that align with their training, subspecialty expertise, experience, and professional interests. Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • AP/CP Board Certification or Board Eligibility
  • Tennessee medical license or eligibility required
  • Strong diagnostic, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training or subspecialty expertise welcomed but not required for every opportunity
  • Leadership experience welcomed for positions involving medical directorship responsibilities
  • If the laboratory is testing samples for New York State, candidates must hold a New York State Certificate of Qualification (CQ) in at least one category of testing offered by the laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality diagnostic pathology services based on the needs of the assigned practice
  • Collaborate with general and subspecialty pathologists, clinicians, laboratory operations teams, and client services
  • Participate in applicable quality, accreditation, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Support laboratory quality improvement and clinical excellence initiatives
  • Provide clinical consultation to physicians and other healthcare partners
  • Participate in practice-specific call coverage and scheduling models
  • Contribute to a collegial, collaborative, and physician-led practice environment
  • Assume medical leadership responsibilities when applicable to the available position
