As the Laboratory Manager, you will supervise and perform technical and administrative tasks in the Waldor lab, providing support to Dr. Waldor and his laboratory staff, including postdoctoral fellows, research fellows, and graduate students. You will ensure adequate supplies for experimental needs and oversee equipment maintenance, and serve as liaison to HHMI and host institution administrative offices. Given the lab's work with enteric bacterial pathogens and animal models (primarily mice), you will help manage biosafety compliance and animal protocol documentation and may support laboratory research and procedures by performing routine experimental techniques, such as preparation of media, buffers, and stock solutions. You will assist Dr. Waldor with personnel management and will handle standard administrative paperwork, such as new student/fellow intake and reimbursement as well assist with writing animal protocols and overseeing the lab’s budget. The Lab Manager will also have the opportunity to have a primary role in research projects.
