About The Position

This position supports daily laboratory operations, facility maintenance activities, and technical prototyping efforts. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment while assisting with 3D printing, inventory management, equipment upkeep, facility logistics, and general operational support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, technically curious, and capable of working independently on a variety of tasks.

Requirements

  • US Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with CAD software including mechanical design and drawings.
  • Experience with finite element analysis software and methods.
  • Experience with space flight hardware (including environmental requirements, standards, materials, etc.)
  • Experience with 3D-printing principles, software, and devices.
  • Capability of working independently on a variety of tasks.
  • Secret or Top Secret clearance, or the ability obtain a clearance is desired.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
  • Current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safety in accordance with procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with laboratory setup, breakdown, and preparation for testing activities.
  • Organize workspaces, tools, materials, and test equipment to ensure efficient operations.
  • Support laboratory personnel with routine tasks and project-related activities.
  • Dispose of waste materials in accordance with established procedures.
  • Operate and monitor 3D printers to produce prototype and production components.
  • Prepare print files, load materials, and perform basic printer setup and calibration.
  • Conduct post-processing activities including cleaning, sanding, assembly, and inspection of printed parts.
  • Maintain records of print jobs, material usage, and production schedules.
  • Assist with troubleshooting minor equipment and print quality issues.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, tools, consumables, and materials.
  • Track stock levels and notify management of replenishment needs.
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments.
  • Label, catalog, and store equipment and materials appropriately.
  • Assist with periodic inventory audits and asset tracking activities.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with routine facility operations and maintenance activities.
  • Support office moves, workspace setup, assembly of specialized laboratory equipment and furniture, and facility organization projects.
  • Coordinate vendor visits and service appointments as directed.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and report facility issues requiring corrective action.
  • Help ensure compliance with safety, security, and facility procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation related to laboratory and facility activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in safety inspections and corrective action activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or laboratory leadership.
