About The Position

The Laboratory Equipment Support Technician serves as the primary point of contact for routine maintenance of laboratory equipment. This role ensures that critical instruments remain clean, functional, and available to support testing activities. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working collaboratively with laboratory scientists in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant lab experience, OR High school diploma with 5–7 years of experience in an academic, biotech, or pharmaceutical laboratory
  • Proven experience with laboratory equipment maintenance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for routine laboratory equipment maintenance needs.
  • Refill the incubator water on a routine schedule to ensure proper function.
  • Coordinate and perform annual disinfection of incubators and biosafety cabinets.
  • Conduct monthly freezer de‑icing to support optimal equipment performance.
  • Coordinate and perform annual freezer defrosts.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory scientists to schedule maintenance around active testing and minimize disruptions.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as time permits.
