About The Position

This position is for a Laboratory Demonstrator/Tutorial Leader for the CHM211H5F - Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry course. The course provides a rigorous introduction to the theory and practice of analytical chemistry, covering basic statistical concepts, various titration methods (precipitation, volumetric, acid-base, complexometric, redox), and introductory instrumental methods like potentiometry and absorption spectroscopy. Applications in biomedical, forensic, and environmental fields will be explored. The role involves demonstrating laboratory procedures, leading tutorials, marking assignments, and potentially invigilating exams. The appointment is for the September 2026 to December 2026 sessional period, with an estimated 110 hours of work. The course is delivered in-person and is expected to have approximately 200 students.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry
  • Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course
  • Good communication skills

  • Previous TA experience working with undergraduate students in Chemistry laboratory and/or tutorial setting
