Laboratory Assistant, Part Time, Variable Shift
About The Position
The Laboratory Assistant performs specimen procurement, accessioning, processing, and testing as assigned under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS). The role provides phlebotomy, including venipuncture and skin puncture, to inpatients and outpatients. PIH Health is a nonprofit regional healthcare network serving approximately 3 million residents in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and the San Gabriel Valley. Its integrated network includes three hospitals, outpatient medical office buildings, a multispecialty physician group, home healthcare and hospice services, and a range of specialty, urgent care, and emergency services.
Requirements
- Phlebotomy or skin puncture techniques on patients ranging from infancy through adulthood.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Procure, accession, and process specimens.
- Perform testing as assigned under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS).
- Provide phlebotomy, including venipuncture and skin puncture, to inpatients and outpatients.
