Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- One(1) Year as a Medical or Lab Assistant or demonstrated experience in laboratory
- Ability to comply with OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements by following established procedures in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and to meet accreditation standards.
- Ability to be flexible as required to adapt to laboratory needs as related to testing and scheduling.
- Ability to operate a pneumatic tube system
Responsibilities
- Support functions
- Preanalytical processing
- Preparing specimens to send to appropriate reference laboratories
- Accessioning/registration functions
- Performance of waived and moderate complexity testing
- Inventory control and management
- Specimen storage and retrieval
- Performs maintenance required by laboratory
