About The Position

On-site | Casual As a Lab Assistant, your primary role will be to independently extract client samples for instrument analysis

Requirements

  • Familiarity with weighing samples required.
  • Excellent hand eye coordination.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently or as a part of the team.
  • Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues.
  • Intermediate English communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 months laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or Degree in Science preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Extract soil and water samples into solvent.
  • Perform duties in accordance with SOP and quality control procedures.
  • Transfer samples between extraction and analytical sections.
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
