About The Position

SGS Australia is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join their team in Kathleen Valley. This is a FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) position with a work rotation of 8 days on followed by 6 days off, and then 7 days on followed by 7 days off, working both days and nights. The role involves various laboratory tasks to support the testing, inspection, and certification services provided by SGS.

• Experience in ICP or XRF instruments
• Forklift license

Responsibilities

• Unloading, loading, sorting, and weighing of samples onto drying racks while maintaining numerical order.
• Reconciling samples delivered with the supplied sample submission form, listing extras and those not received onto the sample sorting sheet (iso sheet).
• Milling samples and transferring sub-samples to sample packets while maintaining numerical order and following established quality control procedures to avoid contamination.
• Task allocation may vary according to workload and include drying, screening, crushing, and assisting in other areas of the laboratory.
