About The Position
Emory University is looking to hire a courier of research samples for the Goizueta Institute Biorepository. Samples need to be transported between three buildings on campus (HSRB 1 on Haygood, Emory Clinic on Clifton, and Emory University Hospital). Hours can be flexible. Research visits occur between 8AM – 4PM. The Personalized Brain Health Initiative's mission is to leverage the power of data in collaboration with patients and the health care community to predict, prevent, diagnose, and treat brain diseases, creating personalized strategies that improve lives. The GIN Biorepository's objective is to establish a centralized repository for biospecimens, specifically blood, to support ongoing and future basic and translational research studies related to brain diseases.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine laboratory and general clerical tasks necessary for daily operation of laboratory.
- Collects, prepares, cleans and stores glassware and other lab equipment.
- Stocks and prepares media, reagents, chemical solutions and stains.
- Maintains records and files.
- Sets up laboratory and research equipment as directed.
- Assists research and laboratory personnel with experiments and procedures.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
- Employees in this classification may be required to work with, take specific precautions against and/or be immunized against potentially hazardous agents.
