About The Position

This is a PRN position working rotating hours in the Core Lab. The role involves drawing blood from adult and pediatric patients, processing blood and non-blood specimens, operating centrifuges, and entering patient information into the computer system. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens. The Laboratory Assistant aids in performing laboratory activities, preparing specimens and supplies, and may be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. The role ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
• May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens.
• Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks.
• Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies.
• May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results.
• Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
