About The Position

Highpoint Health – Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory operations and patient care. The role performs phlebotomy and assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, and transporting specimens. It also maintains supply stock and a safe, aseptic, organized work area; performs clerical tasks such as answering phones, data entry, and filing; and communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.

The position is scheduled full-time nights, 7 PM–7 AM. The employer describes a commitment to employee well-being, professional development, and providing exceptional care to the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior phlebotomy training and a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience.
• Heartsaver CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Critical-thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Ability to perform routine venipuncture and skin puncture.

Nice To Haves

• PBT (ASCP or ASPT) certification or equivalent, to be obtained within two years of employment; listed as preferred.

Responsibilities
