About The Position
Sanford Health is hiring a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory activities and patient care. The role includes phlebotomy and collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens. The assistant prepares laboratory specimens and supplies, may enter laboratory orders and results, and helps ensure laboratory data is accurate and high quality while working safely and professionally. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Experience in a laboratory-related field.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens and related supplies in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Collect, prepare, and process biological specimens; perform phlebotomy.
- May enter laboratory orders and results.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of laboratory data.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
- Perform additional assigned duties to support laboratory operations.
