About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory operations and patient care. The role assists with laboratory activities, prepares specimens and supplies, and may enter laboratory orders and results. Responsibilities include phlebotomy and collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens. The assistant helps maintain accurate, high-quality laboratory data and a safe, professional, clean, and organized work environment. The position may also support the onboarding and training of new team members and perform other duties as assigned.

This is a 40-hour-per-week role scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. The stated work shift is eight-hour day shifts. The salary range is $17.00–$25.50, and the position is eligible for a new-hire sign-on bonus. It is a non-union position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
• May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience in a laboratory-related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens and related supplies in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Collect, prepare, and process biological specimens, including performing phlebotomy.
• Assist with laboratory activities and other assigned tasks.
• Enter laboratory orders and results when assigned.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of laboratory data.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional work environment.
• Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.
