Laboratory Assistant - Evening
About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a part-time evening position with a salary range of $16.00 - $25.50. The role offers on-the-job phlebotomy training and opportunities for career growth. The evening shift has variable start times between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Part-time employees work every other weekend, while full-time employees work every third weekend. Holidays three per year are also part of the role. Additionally, there are five to six on-call weekends per year. The position involves collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens, assisting in laboratory activities, preparing specimens and supplies, and potentially entering laboratory orders and results. The role ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens.
- Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks.
- Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies.
- May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results.
- Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
