Laboratory Assistant - Core Laboratory
About The Position
Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a day shift position working 8 and 10 hour shifts between 0430-1500. Responsibilities include drawing blood from adult and pediatric patients, processing of blood and non-blood specimens, operating centrifuges, and entering patient information into the computer system. The role involves phlebotomy, collecting, preparing, and processing biological specimens. The Laboratory Assistant aids in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks, assists in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies, and may be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. The position ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Experience in a laboratory-related field preferred
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
