Laboratory Assistant - Maui Memorial Medical Center
About The Position
The Laboratory Assistant supports the patient care process by collecting laboratory specimens, including through phlebotomy, and ensuring specimens are processed, prepared, routed, and stored appropriately. The role involves working in a laboratory environment with biological hazards and required personal protective equipment (PPE), while following safety, compliance, quality-control, and patient-information privacy requirements. Paid on-the-job training is provided; no prior experience is required. The position is based at Maui Memorial Medical Center in Wailuku, Hawaii, and is full-time, with days and hours to be determined.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of related experience in a clinical laboratory, data entry, or production.
