About The Position

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of chemical, physical, and biological analyses on water, wastewater and bio solids samples in accordance with established methods and procedures, and performs related duties as assigned. This is a part-time, PERS-eligible position. The work schedule will consist of an average of 29 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department needs. May be required to work an alternative or flexible work schedule, outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours. This part-time position does not qualify for medical benefits or union representation. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and willing to learn or relearn tasks from the ground up. We are looking for someone who brings a positive, can-do attitude to our team and can be depended on when working independently or with others that possess diverse backgrounds. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, or a related science field
  • One (1) year of experience in a laboratory environment
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483.
  • Must obtain certification from the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) as a Wastewater Quality Analyst In-Training within one (1) year of appointment as a condition of continued employment
  • Must obtain and maintain certification as a Grade I Wastewater Quality Analyst from the NWEA within two (2) years of appointment as a condition of continued employment
  • All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by state and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained at incumbent’s expense.
  • Completed Employment Application
  • Current Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) Wastewater Quality Analyst In-Training Certification (if applicable)
  • Current Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) Grade I Wastewater Quality Analyst Certification (if applicable)
