About The Position

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the CPT-Computer Technology department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following. - Install, configure, and maintain B&T classroom and open lab computer equipment - Provide technical support when needed in the computer classrooms and computer open labs - Assist in the maintenance of the Division’s computer equipment inventory - Support and man the B&T Open Lab and classroom CPT Lab Assistants act as the Business & Technology (B&T) Computer Technology Lab Assistant for the B&T Division faculty, staff, and student laboratory computer systems This position reports to the Department Head of Computer Technology and is expected to function with a limited amount of supervision and be innovative in accomplishing tasks as prioritized by the Department Head/Dean/OIT. Requirements

  • Must be a current GTC student enrolled in the Computer Technology program and must have completed first year program requirements as well as a student in good academic standing; or a recent graduate of the CPT program.
  • Must have experience with Windows 10, Windows 8.x, Windows 7, Linux, other operating systems.
  • Must have experience installing and maintaining PC software.
  • Must have excellent technical skills and organizational ability.
  • Must be knowledgeable of computer hardware equipment, peripherals, and common office computer hardware and software.
  • Must have experience installing and maintaining PC hardware.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex software and hardware problems and provide solution in a timely manner
  • Strong communication skills encompassing verbal, written, and computer formats
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities in providing assistant to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Work outside of the normal work hours when required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform unsupervised installation, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair
