About The Position
Join Orlando Health's laboratory team and play a vital role in supporting patient care through specimen processing, patient registration, and laboratory operations. As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will help ensure accurate specimen handling and timely testing while delivering exceptional customer service.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong organization, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) years of laboratory or patient care experience preferred
- Current students pursuing a science-related degree or certification may substitute for required experience
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, centrifuge, label, aliquot, and distribute specimens
- Register patients and enter laboratory orders accurately
- Process pathology specimens and maintain specimen storage records
- Support billing, reference testing, transportation, and scheduling functions
- Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and team members
- Assist with report distribution, filing, and documentation
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
