About The Position
The Laboratory Assistant II (Pathology Technician) at Highland Park Hospital is a full-time position responsible for triaging and processing cytology specimens, providing technical support for the cytology laboratory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role involves collaborating with the team to manage inventory, logs, and equipment, as well as troubleshooting issues under the guidance of a supervisor. Requirements
- College degree preferably in science

- Laboratory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Triage cytology specimen: gross specimen and accession specimen
- Process gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimen using various processing and staining techniques
- Provide customer support as a technical liaison for the cytology laboratory for inquiries
- Support specimen send outs by completing patient sample requests
- Maintain a clean laboratory station
- Work alongside team to manage the inventory, logs, equipment functions, and troubleshoot issues in the laboratory with the supervisor
