Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- No certification or previous experience required (for Laboratory Assistant)
- Requires active phlebotomy certification (for Senior Laboratory Assistant)
- Bachelor's degree required in biology or related subject (for Pathology Technician)
Responsibilities
- Performing phlebotomy and blood collection services to patients of all ages
- Preparing samples for pickup
- Maintain appropriate supplies inventory
- Charting blood draws
- Collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens
- Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks
- Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies
- May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results
- Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment
