Laboratory Animal Technician
About The Position
The Laboratory Animal Technician is responsible for the daily care of research animals, including cage cleaning and sanitation, animal observation, handling and restraint, treatments, investigator support and communication, and facility maintenance. Emergency duties are required during adverse weather and other emergency situations. Weekend and holiday work is required occasionally on a rotating basis. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may occur occasionally. This posting is for four identical positions, and applicants will be considered for all available positions.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for research animals.
- Clean and sanitize cages.
- Observe, handle, and restrain animals.
- Administer treatments.
- Support and communicate with investigators.
- Maintain the facility.
- Perform emergency duties during adverse weather or other emergency situations.
