About The Position

Inotiv is seeking an Animal Technician to provide overall animal care and welfare, support production and selection for customer orders, maintain facilities and records, and perform procedural duties. The role calls for someone passionate about working with animals who is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, hardworking, positive, and committed to teamwork. The technician helps maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment and provides high-quality care for laboratory animals and their offspring. The position may be offered at different levels depending on a candidate’s education and experience, with salary adjusted to match relevant qualifications and responsibilities.

Requirements

• Be available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Be willing to work overtime when needed.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to stand and walk on concrete for at least two hours at a time.
• Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat, and lift.
• Be able to work in a confined environment.
• Be able to stand and bend and stretch arms and legs throughout the regular work shift.
• Have good teamwork skills.
• Be able to work within changing shift times and a rotating overtime schedule.

Responsibilities

• Care for animals, including feeding, cleaning, and breeding responsibilities.
• Maintain detailed animal production and inventory records, including records for precisely weighed and aged groups.
• Keep accurate records of animal feeding, cleaning, and care.
• Follow protocols to ensure the health and welfare of animals in care.
• Maintain sanitation of animal buildings, cages, and support areas.
• Handle laboratory animals and recognize abnormalities.
• Provide high-quality care for laboratory animals and their offspring.
• Perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
