About the Position Responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing instrumental methods, with a primary focus on ICP-OES, while supporting production chemistry to ensure high-quality analytical results, efficient laboratory output, and safe work practices in accordance with ALS standards.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of ICP-OES theory, operation, and method development.
  • Knowledge of method validation, verification, and QA/QC practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Diploma or degree in Science required; Analytical Chemistry preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and validate ICP-OES and other instrumental methods.
  • Perform ICP digestions, analysis, and data review in accordance with QA/QC requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, and assist with troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.
  • Prepare and evaluate reagents, standards, and solutions.
  • Identify and report quality, equipment, or sample issues and support corrective actions.
  • Complete required documentation, including analytical records, logs, and equipment records.
  • Support workload demands and turnaround-time commitments by assisting team members as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment and follow ALS Health and Safety policies.
  • Participate in safety reporting and incident investigations, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
