We’re seeking a motivated Laboratory Analyst II to join our lubricants and petroleum laboratory testing team in Coppell, TX. In this role, you'll perform analytical testing on lubricants, used oils, greases, coolants, fuels, and related petroleum products that support equipment reliability, maintenance programs, and product quality initiatives across a variety of industries. As an intermediate-level laboratory professional, you'll independently perform routine and moderately complex analyses, evaluate data quality, troubleshoot instrumentation, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical professional who enjoys problem-solving, working with advanced laboratory instrumentation, and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced production laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific field required; equivalent hands-on laboratory experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 2+ years of professional hands-on analytical laboratory experience in lubricants, oil analysis, petroleum products, fuels, petrochemical operations, chemical manufacturing, or related laboratory environments
  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation, including gas chromatography (GC), distillation, flash point analyzers, viscometers, or similar laboratory equipment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and general computer applications

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ASTM test methods and laboratory quality systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical testing on lubricants, used oils, greases, coolants, fuels, and related petroleum products using ASTM methods and established laboratory procedures
  • Prepare samples and operate laboratory instrumentation to generate accurate and timely analytical results
  • Perform instrument calibrations, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting activities to ensure reliable operation
  • Enter, review, validate, and maintain analytical data, sample tracking, chain-of-custody documentation, and laboratory records within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Identify unusual findings, investigate discrepancies, and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Support quality assurance programs, proficiency testing, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with inventory management, reagent preparation, laboratory organization, and general operational support
  • Cross-train on multiple analytical methods and testing platforms to support laboratory flexibility and growth
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership and team members to achieve quality, productivity, and turnaround-time objectives
  • Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
