About The Position

Laboratory Analyst II plays a vital role in our high-throughput Seed Quality Testing Laboratory, where you conduct essential chemical and physical analyses that directly support our Product Supply Organization. In this role, you ensure accurate and timely seed quality testing, from product release and in-process control tests to stability studies, while maintaining and calibrating analytical equipment and managing sample administration in SAP/LIMS. You also contribute to robust GMP operations through computer system and method validation, raw data control and archiving, and the creation of GMP documents and regulations, collaborating closely with colleagues and internal customers to deliver reliable results that help feed a growing world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; or AA/AS degree with 2 years of laboratory experience; or high school diploma with 5 years of laboratory experience
  • Strong knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and hands-on experience working in a lab environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with laboratory-related computer systems (e.g., SAP/LIMS) for sample administration and data handling
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and communicate clearly within a multicultural environment, both verbally and in writing in English
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-throughput, time-sensitive environment
  • Willingness and ability to work changing shift hours, including weekends and overtime as required to meet business and seasonal demands.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely and accurate preparation, evaluation, and recording of seed analyses to ensure high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with Unit Lead(s) and the End-to-End Mission Team to complete testing processes, shaping process controls and ensuring accurate data management.
  • Troubleshoot testing processes effectively and take ownership for appropriate error resolution, including performing root cause analyses for nonconformities.
  • Support onboarding and training of new Lab Analysts, fostering a culture of shared ownership, continuous learning, and collaboration.
  • Learn and apply scientific methods and non-routine techniques for analysis, following protocols and work instructions, including preparation of reagents, media, controls, and samples.
  • Participate in the Management of Change process and contribute to updates of testing protocols and work instructions to re-imagine and enhance value creation.
  • Operate independently within a team environment to ensure all testing is conducted in compliance with Bayer ESH policies, Laboratory Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion feedback and provide day-to-day oversight to contingent labor, promoting a culture of shared ownership, safety, and collaboration.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of reagents and consumables to support smooth and uninterrupted lab operations.
  • Engage in special projects and cross-functional teams, actively contributing to collaborative success and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs, including OnePSS initiatives, focusing on process optimization and structured troubleshooting of issues.
  • Contribute to Bayer’s ESH safety program and cross-site projects and initiatives, emphasizing a strong commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.
  • Take ownership of additional responsibilities as needed to support evolving business goals.
