Requirements

  • Experience with Visual Labor Management (VLM) or similar labor management tools.
  • Proficiency in using MOST (electronic work measurement software) and TTM (Time Task Manager) tables.
  • Ability to analyze labor cost budgets, scheduling, and results reporting.
  • Experience in recommending new equipment, methods, and procedures to reduce labor expenses.
  • Skills in establishing business requirements for software functionality.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing software releases for labor forecasting and management.
  • Ability to organize and maintain data repositories and manage data distribution.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining sales and labor tracking tools.
  • Ability to partner with training departments to develop user documentation and training strategies.
  • Consulting skills to work with various levels of management and store personnel.
  • Understanding of factors affecting labor hours at store locations.

Responsibilities

  • Build, review, analyze, develop, and deliver common ABS labor management tools and practices across all divisional retail stores for labor budgeting, scheduling, and results reporting to meet company labor management goals and business initiatives.
  • Provide weekly by store by department labor cost budgets using newly developed corporate systems, either by Period and/or Quarter for all stores in the respective division. Work with the SVP of Operations to establish labor cost objectives for AVPs and DMs while maintaining or improving customer service and store conditions.
  • Recommend new equipment, methods, and procedures at store level to reduce labor expenses.
  • Establish business requirements for simple in-store user functionality of the Visual Labor Management (VLM) tool, and build, specify, and configure the application setup to align with labor management business strategies.
  • Review and analyze new system software releases of VLM labor management applications for labor forecasting, department schedule writing, and labor management, providing feedback to corporate Retail Engineering for future development requirements from the software vendor.
  • Utilize engineered labor standards within MOST (an electronic work measurement software) to determine labor requirements for tasks and activities by job by department to populate VLM databases, and use TTM (Time Task Manager) tables from VLM to determine "Fixed & Variable" labor factors for reporting productivity performance and future labor cost budgets.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining a central data repository for all divisional stores, including equipment quantities, types, physical characteristics, policies, and methods that affect labor hours at each location. Manage data distribution and refresh processes, including interfaces for daily and weekly data feeds from POS, distribution centers, DSD, and Rx systems.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of a weekly/periodic Sales and Labor Tracking Tool for managing productivity and labor expenses at store, district, and division levels.
  • Partner with the corporate training department to provide training content and material guidelines for effective user documentation and training strategies.
  • Perform other productivity and cost control assignments as requested by senior management.
  • Consult with DMs, Field Specialists, and Store Directors regarding unique facility circumstances, discrepancies in actual labor hours versus standard, potential costs of changes due to competition, remodels, conversions, customer service levels, etc., while maintaining consistency among all stores, districts, areas, and divisions.
