About The Position

Aligned Talent Acquisition is recruiting for an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney opportunity with a leading Am Law 100 firm in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in a sophisticated management-side practice involving employment litigation, workplace counseling, investigations, and complex labor and employment matters for employers across a diverse range of industries.

Requirements

2–6 years of labor and employment experience
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
Excellent client service and communication skills
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

Experience conducting or assisting with workplace investigations is a plus
Traditional labor experience involving collective bargaining, grievances, or unfair labor practice matters is a plus

Responsibilities

Representing employers in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies
Handling matters involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, restrictive covenants, and other workplace disputes
Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation documents
Taking and defending depositions and assisting with mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation
Counseling employers regarding employee relations, workplace policies, terminations, accommodations, leaves of absence, and employment compliance
Conducting or assisting with workplace investigations
Traditional labor experience involving collective bargaining, grievances, or unfair labor practice matters
