About The Position
The Family Maternity Center, which includes 10 labor beds, 30 post-partum beds, and a special care nursery, provides care for higher risk situations and is known for its outstanding care, delivering Rochester's most newborns each year. This role provides professional nursing services for patients and their families, collaborating with other healthcare providers and team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support patient care. All positions listed perform their role within five (5) core performance domains: Clinical Practice, Service Excellence, Professional Development and Professional Communication and Behaviors, and Research and Evidence Based Practice. The Level I Registered Nurse (RN) is a new Associate Degree (AD) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) graduate who is completing the Nursing Practice Orientation Program with 6 months of clinical experience or less post licensure. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Level I nurse is accountable for the provision of direct care to assigned patients utilizing the nursing process. The Level I nurse supports peers in the delivery of patient care services in an organized manner, prioritizing safety and team collaboration and communication. The Level 1 nurse contributes to unit activities that enhance patient care outcomes. Upon completion of a six-month evaluation by the Nurse Manager, if all requirements are met, the nurse advances to Level II RN.
Requirements
- New licensed RN with 0-6 months experience in RN role.
- Licensed by New York State to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare providers preferred).
