This is a temporary Per Diem Program for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses with premium rates. The minimum commitment is 64 hours per 8-week time block, with a requirement to work at least 8 hours per 2-week pay period. The program has a 3-month commitment. The role involves providing professional nursing services for patients and their families, and/or for the nursing department. The nurse will collaborate with other healthcare providers and team members to achieve expected patient outcomes and improve the care environment. Nurses will utilize the nursing process and evidence-based practice to coordinate and provide direct care and services that support patient care. The Level II Registered Nurse (RN), under the direction of the Nurse Manager, is accountable for providing competent patient care based on established standards and the nursing process. The Level II RN may assume expanded unit roles such as charge nurse or preceptor, as assigned by the Nurse Manager. The Level II nurse supports peers in patient care delivery, uses appropriate team communication methods, and practices care that reflects the patient's condition and priorities. The Level II nurse contributes to team problem-solving, identifies opportunities for self-growth, and supports the development of other learners. Additionally, the Level II nurse contributes to a safe unit environment and operations.
