Position Overview The ideal candidate will have experience advising employers on workplace compliance issues and handling employment-related disputes. This role provides exposure to a broad range of employment matters, including litigation, workplace investigations, and day-to-day counseling for employers. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law.
  • Experience handling employment litigation and employment counseling for employers.
  • Working knowledge of key state and federal employment laws.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience responding to administrative charges (EEOC or similar agencies) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and counsel employers on federal, state, and local employment laws and workplace compliance matters.
  • Represent employers in employment-related litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Manage litigation tasks including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Take and defend depositions, participate in hearings, and assist with trial preparation.
  • Prepare position statements and respond to administrative charges before local, state, and federal agencies such as the EEOC.
  • Conduct workplace investigations involving discrimination, harassment, and other employee complaints.
  • Draft and review employee handbooks, workplace policies, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements.
  • Assist clients with wage and hour compliance and wage and hour litigation.
  • Provide practical day-to-day guidance to employers regarding employee relations and risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and communicate directly with clients on active matters.
