About The Position

A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse is a specialized registered nurse who provides care and support to women during childbirth, including the antepartum (before delivery), intrapartum (during delivery), and postpartum (after delivery) stages. L&D nurses play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and baby.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery Experience Required
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Empathy, patience, and a supportive attitude toward patients and their families.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, labor progress, and address any complications.
• Guide and comfort patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Prepare rooms, support delivery procedures, and manage tasks like IVs and medications.
• Provide pain relief and manage complications under physician guidance.
• Oversee recovery, support breastfeeding, and provide newborn care.
• Record all care activities and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Handle emergencies such as fetal distress and perform resuscitation.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team and ensure effective communication with patients and families.
