Labor and Delivery Direct Care RN
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process and its critical-thinking model. This includes assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN also follows professional performance standards covering ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN applies clinical knowledge and skills to meet the standards required for the clinical area. This is a full-time, day-shift position in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing.
- Registered nursing license.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- NRP certification.
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
- Meet professional performance standards in areas including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Apply clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required for the Labor and Delivery clinical area.
