About The Position

This position is responsible for marketing new labor business using a diverse number of selling methods, managing a block of complex/high revenue accounts to meet retention targets, acting as a point of contact for strategic and technical issues and serving as point person between HCSC, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, system vendors, and fund offices in resolving inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in managed care Account Management or health insurance.
  • State General Lines Agent Life, Health, and HMO license or obtain General Lines Agent Life, Health, and HMO license within required time frame per state regulations.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to compose communications, negotiate with client groups, prepare and facilitate presentations.
  • Business relationship building experience.
  • Consensus building and conflict management skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.
  • Knowledge of managed care products, industry and trends.
  • PC proficiency to include MS Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Health Care Administration or Finance.
  • Knowledge of HCSC systems (BlueCHIP, BlueSTAR, CRM).
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience and understanding of labor unions and Taft-Hartley Welfare Funds.
  • Knowledge of county and state political environment and key players in state of operations.
