About The Position

Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking a Label Line Lead. The Line Lead is responsible for daily frontline support leadership for labeling line labor and production execution. This position will support the Shift Supervisors in driving daily performance management and improvement in Safety, Quality, Schedule Attainment and O.E.E. performance areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Powered industrial lift truck certification
  • At least 3-5 years of related experience within a food manufacturing setting or comparable industry.
  • Excellent Communication skills and ability to work well with others while promoting a positive attitude
  • Strong computer skills relating to spreadsheets and word processing programs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and math skills
  • Must have basic proficiency in reading, writing math and computer skills.
  • Must be able to work in a quick paced environment, while working well with others and promoting a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in manufacturing, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Champion safety on label lines. Ensure all team members are always wearing proper PPE and following all safety protocols for machine operation. Utilize Traksys to report all near misses and incidents and help resolve any safety concerns from team members. Support updating LOTO documents in Brady 360 system.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all label line positions for assigned line(s).
  • Partner with supervisor to execute on all KPIs including, but not limited to: Safety, Quality, OEE, Attainment, Waste and Inventory Accuracy
  • Drive KPI success by soliciting feedback from team members and utilizing continuous improvement tools to execute corrective actions and implement solutions
  • Act as point of contact and liaison for label lines with Engineering, DC, and leadership team. Actively solve and/or escalate all issues preventing lines from reaching KPI targets.
  • Verify downtime data in Traksys is accurate, as well as Daily Directional Setting meetings, and provide analysis on top downtime data and coordinate resources to address top line issues.
  • Understand the KPI metrics that are reported (OEE, waste) and be a spokesperson at Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings.
  • Leverage the team to create and execute action plans to solve the gap to perfection
  • Safety Champion for assigned lines with a zero-injury mindset.
  • GMP Champion for assigned lines with 100% adherence mindset.
  • Lead in the implementation of process improvement initiatives for assigned lines
  • Lead problem solving RCAs for assigned lines and execute corrective actions to address root cause with prevention of future occurrences as the outcome.
  • Manage training matrices for assigned lines and coordinate with supervisor to assign employees to training required
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Back up supervision for absences, PTO and OT
  • Front-line team leadership support – labor and KPI performance management
