Requirements

  • Must be able to read English to understand written procedures, hazardous warning, etc.
  • Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions.
  • General problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work varying schedules to include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Stand, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, pick or pinch, and talk or hear most of the time.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as it pertains to disclosures of protected health information (PHI).
  • Adhere to all data security guidelines established within the Company’s Privacy & Security Training Program.

Nice To Haves

  • High Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Powers up equipment and performs equipment validation process.
  • Operates multiple fining and polishing machines simultaneously.
  • Fines lens for predetermined amount of time according to lens material.
  • Verifies the polish temperature.
  • Loads the blocks in the blocking stations and ensures the blocks are flush with the plate.
  • Releases alloy onto lens, monitor process, block and place both blocked lenses back into appropriate tray for further processing.
  • Loads two lenses at a time into machine to complete automatic cleaning for coating process.
  • Removes lenses from machine and dry front of lens. Review for imperfections and places lenses in the tray.
  • Monitors auto-blocker and troubleshoot machine errors.
  • Picks up alloy, blocks and work from polishing stations as needed.
  • Initials the surface equipment verification log to confirm machine validation.
  • May rotate among other functions within the department.
  • Practice and comply with all requirements of our Quality Management System (QMS), prescribed safety and hazardous materials handling procedures, and Federal/State laws regulating hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
