Requirements

  • One year in a laboratory job experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good math skills and use of calculator
  • Good organizational skills needed to complete multiple test concurrently
  • Ability to use standard measuring tools like micrometers
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions and specifications
  • Some clerical skill for filing records
  • Must read, write and speak English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Stands on tile floor up to 6 hours a day
  • Digital dexterity for handling and testing small specimens
  • Good hand-to-eye coordination and excellent mental focus required to use rubber mill
  • Good close vision needed to examine specimens for flaws
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to chest height
  • This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Responsibilities

  • Prepares standard and non-standard rubber test specimens, conditions them and tests them on a variety of testing machines and equipment.
  • Molds standard and nonstandard test specimens
  • Performs all standard laboratory tests
  • Determines finished part conformance to customer and industry specifications
  • Determines compound conformance to customer and industry specifications
  • Completes special testing projects assigned by chemist and R & D manager
  • Makes sample for customers as requested by sales and customer service departments
  • Uses laboratory mixing, performing and molding equipment to make test trial formulations
  • Follows safety rules
