About The Position

The Lab Technician provides timely and accurate analytical testing data to production departments and supports night-shift production. The role involves sampling and testing raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products; maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, records, and work areas; and reporting non-compliant results or conditions that may affect compliance with standards and specifications. The technician must follow plant and corporate policies and adhere to food safety, quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures.

Requirements

1 year of food manufacturing experience.
Basic working knowledge of personal computers.
Understanding of basic math.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a laboratory or quality assurance function.
Some college science and math courses or an associate degree.

Responsibilities

Sample raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
Wash laboratory utensils and glassware.
Prepare and stock reagents and media.
Maintain monitoring records for laboratory analytical testing.
Report non-compliant laboratory testing results.
Receive, stock, and inventory laboratory supplies and reagents.
Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
Maintain laboratory reports in a timely, accurate, and legible manner.
Keep the laboratory and associated areas orderly and clean.
Follow plant and corporate policies.
Adhere to food safety and quality policies and procedures and report nonconformities.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures and report nonconformities.
Adhere to GMP policies and procedures and report nonconformities.
Report plant conditions that may result in non-compliance with standards and specifications.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lab / QC Supervisor.
