About The Position

This is a regular part-time lab/work experience position in a busy office environment for the U.S. headquarters of a German manufacturer of wastewater treatment equipment. The role offers exposure to various company processes and requires approximately 20 hours per week.

Requirements

Strong Microsoft Office skills
Accurate typing skills required
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Ability to measure weights and volumes.
Familiarity with general laboratory safety guidelines.
Lab experience required
Ability to pass a drug test, background check as it relates to the role, and completion of an I-9 form.

Associates or Bachelor recommended preferred or education and experience combined
Preferred majors: Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering – Civil, Chemical, Environmental

Responsibilities

Collect, track, log, and test sludge samples submitted to the laboratory from clients.
Communicate with clients regarding the logistics of sludge samples, including shipping coolers and communicating shipment timelines.
Perform sludge bench testing for thickening and dewatering, including mixing polymers with sludge, preparing samples for moisture content analysis, and recording sludge chemical characteristics.
Conduct bench testing for dryers, including forming extruded material, drying sludge in an oven, documenting the process with pictures, and preparing samples for shipment to Germany.
Perform bench testing for Grit, DAF, and Strainpress as required, including testing chemical and physical parameters of sludge samples and testing moisture and organic characteristics of screenings.
Maintain order and cleanliness in the laboratory.
Coordinate the disposal of tested material.
Track supplies and alert the supervisor when orders need to be placed.
Prepare bench test reports for review by the applicable Product Manager.
Track all test results in the results database.
Assist with sludge analysis for startup and performance testing.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
