About The Position

The LeBeau Lab is seeking a lab technician to become a core part of our research team. The lab specializes in the development of novel antibody scaffolds to serve as improved diagnostic and therapeutic agents for various diseases, primarily cancer. In this role, we seek a dedicated and reliable technician who will discover new antibody binding domains using phage-display technology. This technician will design, perform, and analyze experimental data. Appropriate training and support will be provided, but the technician will be expected to plan their own schedule and operate mostly independently for the majority of their appointment. This job is an excellent way for candidates to gain research experience, and previous LeBeau Lab technicians have gone on to graduate programs, medical school, and industry positions. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. The work schedule is flexible and will be determined at the time of hire.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working with experimental design, data collection, and data analysis.
  • A willingness to learn, problem solve, and operate reasonably independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with phage-display technologies.
  • Experience with DNA and proteins (purification, sequencing, production, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience working independently as well as collaboratively in research teams at any level (undergraduate labs, previous technician experience, industry experience, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Completes and acknowledges trainings
  • Uses, maintains, calibrates, and sets up lab equipment and apparatuses according to established policies and procedures and documents activities
  • Sets up, prepares, and cleans laboratory glassware, instruments, equipment, and laboratory work spaces
  • Coordinates and participates in a variety of routine technical duties by providing assistance to research and/or laboratory staff in testing and experiments
  • Performs quality control, acknowledges documents, performs document reviews and/or writes and revises documents as assigned
