Requirements

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word for business use, including spreadsheets, written communication, and document formatting.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Quality Laboratory practices and related equipment.
Post-secondary coursework in a technical field.
Experience with a quality management system (i.e., ISO9001, IATF16949).
Familiarity with quality-related documentation such as GRR, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, etc.
PC Proficient.

Responsibilities

Testing product samples to ensure they are in compliance with established specifications and standards.
Contributing to the improvement of the Nucor Fastener Quality Management System through participation in the IATF 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025 certification programs.
Performing lab testing including product characteristics such as: dimensional, proof load, tensile properties, hardness, magnetic particle, micro-hardness, rotational capacity, tension control assembly testing, hydrogen embrittlement testing, and others.
Performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
