Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word for business use, including spreadsheets, written communication, and document formatting.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Quality Laboratory practices and related equipment.
  • Post-secondary coursework in a technical field.
  • Experience with a quality management system (i.e., ISO9001, IATF16949).
  • Familiarity with quality-related documentation such as GRR, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, etc.
  • PC Proficient.

Responsibilities

  • Testing product samples to ensure they are in compliance with established specifications and standards.
  • Contributing to the improvement of the Nucor Fastener Quality Management System through participation in the IATF 16949 and ISO/IEC 17025 certification programs.
  • Performing lab testing including product characteristics such as: dimensional, proof load, tensile properties, hardness, magnetic particle, micro-hardness, rotational capacity, tension control assembly testing, hydrogen embrittlement testing, and others.
  • Performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
